My name is Phillip Allan and welcome to my website. I'm a songwriter based in Chester, Cheshire, UK. Currently I'm sharing ideas and working with songwriters, musicians, playwrights, poets and artists across the UK.

I have been recently experimenting with fusing musical styles, composing commercial songs which don't fit into existing genres. These songs will be released later this year as an album by the band 'The Heart Athletes' Over the next few months we will be testing out tracks and compiling the album track listing. Having recently created a showcase video for an up and coming new singer based in London I have decided to offer some of my songs as audition clips for a musical theatre project. See below.
MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITION CLIPS
Here are the lyric videos for two of my Musical Theatre Audition Clips. The tracks are freely available for use by artists wanting a standout, original, fun audition clip. Please feel free to download and use the lyrics, lead sheet and mp3 files. All copyrights to the tracks are held in Copyright House. Let me know if and how you use the songs, it would be wonderful to hear from you. Full tracks are available on request. I can easily be contacted in the first instance via Facebook messenger. The downloads for each Audition Clip are in different keys so that you can find and sing the song in the the best key for your voice.
The PDFs of the lyrics and lead sheet can be downloaded from Adobe Reader. To download the music clips listen to the various keys, choose one and stop the music playing by clicking on the [||] key at the beginning of the song. Then hover over the small white arrowhead and [right click] your mouse. From the menu select [Save Audio As...] then choose where on your PC you would like to save the file. The mp3 of your chosen key will then be downloaded onto your system.

From the acclaimed director, author and actor Steve Berkoff comes the definitive stage version of the Oscar Wilde play ‘Salome’. The music for the trailer has been specially commissioned by Steven Berkoff. The song is called ‘Salome’ by the musical collective ‘The Heart Athletes’.

'Death Row' is the second commission by Mike Hynde to produce a video trailer for one of the poems from a book of poetry he published on Sunday 18th October 2020. It's called 'Dark Hearts and Other Twisted Poetry'. As you can tell by the title this is a far darker book than his first book of poetry called 'Hearts and Flowers'. It shows the potential synergy between a poem and a song.
